019 – “The bullets were in Pembroke Dock”

Tonight I’m heading down to Ammanford in the South Wales Valleys to talk to Solicitor and Sheep Farmer Hywel Davies @DefaidTexel

We hear about his background growing up on the family’s smallholding, and how they expanded into breeding pedigree Texel sheep, as well as the most rural Wales story ever involving Charolais Cattle!

We discuss Hywel’s day job as solicitor, specialising in conveyances and criminal defence, and the situations and range of different people that he encounters from day to day. We also talk about what it’s like standing up in court, and how being involved in stock judging in YFC was a good grounding for that.

We then talk the importance of farmers getting involved in the wider community, as well as the importance of social media.

Hywel’s a lovely fella, and super switched-on, and after talking to him for so long on social media, it was fantastic to talk to him tonight.

Check it out folks..
